Fiber to the Home (FTTH)

Eastern Slope Technologies will provide Fiber to the Home (FTTH) to each of our 10 service areas within the next 5 years.

Bennett, Flagler, Eads town, and Hugo rural have fiber at this time. The town of Hugo is currently in the process of a fiber network. Arriba and Genoa will look forward to the fiber construction process beginning in late 2023.

How is FTTH better than wireless, cable, DSL or 5G:

Latency refers to how much time it takes for a signal to travel to its destination and back. Low latency is very important for activities like online gaming, video conferencing, stock trading or any activity where a delay matters.

Since no… one… wants…to… face… time… like… this … Latency matters and it’s much lower with fiber.

Severe weather, temperature fluctuations, moisture, and electrical surges are not a factor for fiber.

Fiber has faster load times, which makes streaming; real-time and online gaming; and video calls everything you could want.

Fiber able to connect multiple devices with out a problem.

Fiber Internet uses cutting-edge technology to deliver data to and from your devices at the speed of light. Light travels through fiber optic lines at speeds that far surpass that of cable and DSL. Download AND Upload speeds typically range from 100 Mbps to 10 Gig.

Fiber Internet has symmetrical upload and download speeds, whereas DSL and cable typically have significantly slower upload speeds. Upload speeds are important in today’s technology of remote learning, working from home, video conferencing/calls, and real-time/online gaming.

Fiber Internet adds 3.1% to the value of a home.
